dSPE Tips

dSPE tips are a patented solid phase extraction device that provide highly efficient interaction of the sorbent with the analyte through mixing. The pipette tips are unique from other SPE devices and contain a loose or “dispersive” sorbent, which is mixed with the sample solution during aspirate and dispense steps.

DPX High Quality Sorbents

dSPE tips can be ordered with a variety of high-quality sorbents in custom amounts and combinations. Depending on the tip format, dSPE tips can hold 1 to 100 mg of sorbent.

μElution tips have a unique low-retention frit and are compatible with all sorbents with > 50 μm particle size.

Sorbent Phase Selection

Reversed Phase (RP)

Our reversed phase sorbent is a styrene divinylbenzene polymer with an average particle size of 75 μm. It is ideal for nonpolar and slightly polar compounds.

Weak Anion Exchange (WAX)

Our weak anion exchange (WAX) sorbent has a secondary amine phase with a styrene divinyl benzene backbone for the binding of strong acids, such as sulphates. WAX sorbents are offered in 10-20 μm and 55-65 μm particle size ranges.

Strong Anion Exchange (SAX)

Our strong anion exchange (SAX) sorbent has a quaternary amine phase with a styrene divinyl benzene backbone for the binding of acidic compounds. SAX sorbent is offered in a 55-65 μm particle size range.

Weak Cation Exchange (WCX)

Our weak cation exchange (WCX) sorbent has a carboxylic acid stationary phase with a styrene divinyl benzene backbone for the binding of strong bases such as quaternary amines. WCX sorbent is offered in a 30-70 μm particle size range.

Strong Cation Exchange (SCX)

Our strong cation exchange (SCX) sorbent has a sulfonated stationary phase with a styrene divinyl benzene backbone for the binding of basic compounds. SCX sorbents are offered in 10-20 μm, 25-35 μm and 55-65 μm particle size ranges.

Silica

Our silica sorbent is amenable to extraction via hydrogen bonding. It is available in a 40-60 μm particle size range.

C18

Our C18 sorbent has a silica gel backbone. It is endcapped, with a carbon load of 18-22%, and 40-60 μm particle size range.

Mixed Mode

Our mixed mode products are completely customized by choosing any of the above chemistries to combine in one tip. Each sorbent’s mass can also be customized for optimal extraction characteristics for any analyte/matrix combination.

HybridSPE® – Phospholipid Removal 

DPX is proud to offer HybridSPE® (a Supelco/Sigma product) sorbent. It is a proprietary zirconia coated silica that selectively removes phospholipids from biological samples.
