Introduction to INTip™ Filtration
INTip Filtration utilizes a patent-pending Tip-on-Tip Technology. In this short video here you can see a Hamilton wide bore pipette tip combined with a bottom DPX Filtration pipette tip. The blue gasket at the top of the DPX Filtration pipette tips creates an air tight seal between the two tips. DPX Filtration tips are available in a variety of porosities. Hover the images below to learn more about each of our Filtration tips.
ToT technology provides a fast and automated alternative to a variety of methods. Sorbent chemistry can be introduced into ToT workflows for cleanup and solid phase extractions. See the advantages and different workflows utilizing ToT technology below:
Filtration
ToT Filtration methods provide a fast, automated INTip™ alternative to filtration/centrifugation. This methodology is ideal for high-throughput automated protein precipitation and filtration, beta-glucuronidase enzyme removal, or any other particulate removal, like cannabis solvent extract filtration.
Advantages:
- No positive pressure/vacuum manifold
- Low Cost
- High throughput – fast methods
- Automated alternative to manual centrifugation steps

ToT Cleanup and SPE Methods
Tip-on-Tip workflows can incorporate resin for more extensive purification. These workflows can center around binding matrix to the resin (Tip-on-Tip Cleanup) where the filtrate has purified analyte to be further analyzed or around binding the analyte (ToT SPE) to be further washed and eluted . In each workflow, the resin and sample solution are mixed in a well for binding to occur. The top tip aspirates the resin/sample mixture, fits into the Filtration tip, and dispenses through the Filtration tip where the resin is retained, as seen in the image provided. These workflows are compatible with a variety of commercially available resins.
ToT Cleanup or SPE methodologies are ideal for applications that require specific incubation conditions between resin and sample solution, like immunoaffinity purification. This provides an automated, cost effective alternative to workflows that traditionally use magnetic beads. Filtration tips are compatible with budget friendly polymer- and agarose-based resins; designed to eliminate particulates in the elution and maximize the utility of the automated liquid handling system.
ToT Cleanup Advantages:
